TRAIL REPORT 1 / 30 /17

Well we groomed Thursday , Friday and Saturday nights and ten sleds later you couldn’t tell we had been grooming. The snow is just not packing down , temps aren’t cold enough, looks like that may be changing this week. Thursday night we had a piece of steering linkage break on the Tucker while turning around at Rockwood Cottages, hopefully will be repaired for this weekend. ITS 88 and RT 66 will be getting groomed this week , most likely Wednesday night. The new groomer can not groom in town as it’s to wide for some trails . Also we groomed to Long Pond Saturday

Trail Report 1 /26 /17

Well I don’t think this storm was a nor’easter but it did drop 5 or so inches of sleet and a little snow. Definitely better than rain. We will be grooming all of RT 66 and ITS 88 Thursday night. Brassua trail will be Friday morning . Saturday we will go out again and do it all over again and groom to Long Pond . Riding is Excellent so please come to Rockwood and enjoy the trails. The Birches is grooming all their trails to Greenville and Jackman . 1 /23 /17 trail update

Wow, what a long weekend ! Started Tuesday when Trail Bully got it’s 100 hour check up and technician found algae in the fuel system. We had to get a new storage tank , new fuel , drain and flush tanks in both groomers. This got completed Sunday around noon. Then we had to go out on Brassua trail and mark waterholes,  Rt 66 and ITS 88 mark more waterholes and fill in with brush. We groomed before the warm up and trails are flat and icy. I rode our entire system yesterday and everything is in good shape , we need some snow , hopefully this week we get a few inches. There are a couple water holes starting to open on RT 66 so please watch for these , they are in the typical wet spots , which are marked . We will groom again Thursday night even if we don’t get any fresh snow. Many corners are icy so please be careful and drive  according to conditions. We have groomed our entire system today. Trails are in excellent shape, we will be grooming again before the weekend. Hopefully trail to Mt Kineo will be marked, we are checking ice tomorrow. We are also checking ice on Brassua Lake, we only mark a trail to get you away from the dam so please know the lake or ride with someone that does because all parts of the lake are not safe! The snow gods are being very good to us this year. Trails will all be groomed starting tonight and thru the weekend. Rt 66 thru the Birches all the way to ITS 88 to Parlin Pond and to Jackman. Trails are very flat and hard so please use caution on corners. Check for new intersection to Pittston Farm on Rt66, you can make a nice loop from the farm toward Jackman and back to ITS 88 to RT 66 to Rockwood. For a recent update of our trails. We have groomed our complete system three times, the groomers went out Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Rt 66, 12 mile bog, 88 to Jackman. The trails are in excellent condition. We have a groomer broke down on the side of Rt 66, it will be staying there for the winter, please use caution.
