4 / 9 / 18 TRAIL REPORT

I rode RT 66 to Kokadjo , NE Carey , Pitston and back to Rockwood yesterday and could not believe how good trails are. Guy had all his trails freshly groomed, it was great, saw 11 sleds all day. We have taken stakes off Moosehead so use your own judgment crossing ANY bodies of water! I did ride Mosehead & Brassua this weekend and both have some water on edges, both have flattened out for some nice riding. If your willing to ride a little marginal trail out of town or tow up and unload closer to Pitston  you will have some great

TRAIL REPORT 4 /2 /18

What a crazy season this has been, one extreme to another. Grooming is done for this season unless we get a descent storm this week. Carey and I rode our system yesterday , once you get out of town 6-7 miles  the trail is surprisingly good. We also road Jackman and Pittston trails and same thing , not bad at all for spring riding. I am sure old logging roads are still good riding its just a matter of getting there. Club ride around lake was fun with cook out following at Brads , great way to end the season. Thank you to all

Trails are in great shape, we will be grooming Thursday night all in town trails and RT 66 to Pittston Farm , Jackman , Moose river bridge (ITS 88 ). Riding is very good for this time of year, I have talked to all neighboring clubs and we are all grooming for this weekend. We will have to see what it looks like for next week , how much traffic there is and what temps do. As always watch out for hazards as they appear quickly this time of year. I want to thank all of our groomer operators for

Well winter is finally here! Sorry for the lack of reports I had the good fortune of going to the Gaspe last week. All eight of us had a great time and no sled issues. Now back to Rockwood , groomers were out in full force thru the weekend trying to keep trails flat. More good news , Chesuncook is going to groom RT 66 to Kineo the rest of this season to complete the loop .This is a huge help to Rockwood and surrounding clubs. Today looks like another nor’easter, I love it, it will take 2 -3 groomings to get all the air out

We got about 2 inches of new snow Sunday afternoon. Groomers went out Sunday night and whipped trails into shape. Need to be careful as some waterholes are starting to open up and conditions can change very fast. There is still plenty of good riding to be had , trails with a lot of traffic will be beat up at the end of the day, not much we can do about that. Lets hope this storm on Friday moves in land and dumps on us. Enjoy and ride safe.

Trails are changing fast out there, so please stay off if at all possible until temps cool down. The lake has a lot of slush on it this morning. Wet areas on trails will be opening up so watch for hazards until we get more cold and snow to fill them in. I know its vacation week but riding trails in these warm conditions could ruin them for the season so PLEASE stay off till it turns cold again , Thank you .

Lets all be doing some snow dancing , weather is warm but a little snow Saturday night into Sunday morning will help. We will be grooming as temperatures allow, cant do much if snow is slush. This will be the second year vacation week has been warm . Lets hope weather pattern changes back to winter. Look out for hazards as trails can change very quickly, and remember traffic will be heavy and not everyone is an expert rider . Stay on your side in corners and stay in control at all times . We want everyone to enjoy Rockwood and Moosehead
