TRAIL REPORT 20 /17 / 21

We received about 5 inches of new snow on Tuesday. It helps but we really need more, groomers are out every night during vacation weeks trying to make the best of what we have. Conditions are really pretty good , all surrounding clubs are doing a great job. Early morning is the best riding as trails do get beat up by the end of day, the snow consistency is not holding as good as we like but nothing i can do about that. Ride safe and enjoy , do a snow dance it might help !

Last weeks storm was a big help , we have a couple smaller storms coming in. Groomers have been & will continue to be out multiple times per week. Woods trails are getting better and roads are still very good , unfortunately the snow is not holding a good hard pack surface, a few sleds over freshly groomed trails really takes a toll. All clubs around the lake and are doing their best . We do have an active logging area at bridge crossing moose river , it will be marked , so please go very slow thru this area

We got stakes out from Kineo to Boat landing and to Rockwood cottages on Saturday, wow was the wind cold an blowing. Today lake will be staked to The Birches. Please stay on marked trails , the lake has good and bad spots , so if you don’t know ice conditions please don’t just ride around the lake. Trails that are roads are still very good , woods trails need this storm tonight , hopefully we get the full 12 inches. Many hazard’s still in trail , rocks and stumps just under snow cover . Rides right and stay safe!

1 / 27 / 21 TRAIL REPORT

Our hearts go out to the families that have lost a loved one already this year . Please be careful , trails have many dangers just under the low snow conditions that can cause sleds to veer off the trail. we will not be staking the lake this weekend, I know people are crossing from Kineo docks to Kineo which has 8-10 inches of ice, but if we stake that section some will think the whole lake is safe and it is not . Please do not take lake to Birches ,last weekend only 2 inches of ice out there.

TRAIL ETIQUETTE

This is about being conscious of what is going on behind you when snowmobiling. I think you should drive at your ability and no faster, but you should not hold others up that want to go faster. Example on Sunday we where riding Pittston Farm trails, very good conditions, we came up on 2 riders , looked like a husband and wife, we followed for a few miles and he pulled over and let us by, we gave a wave thanking as we went by. Now we come upon another couple with the wife leading going very slow ,5 mph
